Question for our North Coast NSW members

Postby hoffy on Sat Feb 06, 2010 12:01 pm

Howdy,

Does anyone know the status of the Speed on Tweed event? I know it was done in co-injunction with the WRC last year. Does anyone know if its going to happen this year?

Cheers

So to answer that - its NZ's turn

oh and not Central Coast (thats Gosford>Newcastle) you mean North Coast NSW 8-)

I'm pretty sure the Speed on Tweed will still be on.

I went last year, on the saturday... specifically to go to Speed on Tweed... not interested in the WRC, but when I got to the gate I was not so politely told I had to pay to see the WRC as well and cough up the better part of 50 bucks. If the WRC is there again this year I won't be going.

I love events like Speed on Tweed. I love casually walking through the pits, chatting to the drivers, seeing beautiful classic cars and I love the (previously) reasonable admission price.

I don't want to pay a big wad of cash for the 'privledge' of going somewhere overcrowded, full of drunken idiots, or to have promo girls with ridiculous spray tans sell me an energy drink...

... I want to see racing, not a display designed to rape the senses of the attention span challenged while bleeding their wallets dry.

If someone can confirm the WRC WON'T be there, I will.
Matt
